Apollo 13 - Flown Beta Cloth
This listing is for a small fragment of Beta Cloth which was flown onboard Apollo 13. This cloth came from the collection of Mission Commander Jim Lovell. Earlier this year, I obtained this patch directly from Captain Lovell, via Heritage Auctions in their May 2021 Space Auction (Lot 50323 ). The fragments were taken from the outer edge of the patch, as shown in the photos. The full patch cost over $7500, so this is a great way to add a genuine artifact of the mission to your collection at a low price. Each fragment of Beta Cloth measures approximately .5" wide. I've attached each fragment to an 8x10" professionally printed photo, using non-yellowing, archival-grade linen tape to prevent fraying. In an effort to authenticate these as much as possible, I documented every bit of the process.
