NASA Glass Film Slides (Richard Underwood Collection)
($25 each)
This listing is for various 70mm glass film slides, which came from the collection of Richard Underwood. Richard had a major role in the photography department at NASA. He personally trained the astronauts on photography techniques, he was the first person to view the photographs taken in space, and he led the team that created the first topographic maps of the Moon. Richard made these slides to be used by astronauts and NASA PR representatives as they gave presentations. Each was made by mounting a 70mm film frame to a blue backing sheet, which was then pressed between two sheets of glass with silver foil tape on the edges to hold the pieces together. Many of them have been hand-annotated as well.
These are over 50 years old, so they're no longer in mint condition. Some of the slides have minor cracks/scratches/stains from their years of travel and use. And the film itself has some discoloration with age, as is expected with any photochemical film. This set originally came with a COA from The Right Stuff Inc, and I will include a color photocopy with every purchase.
